Is Menopause Men & Their Symptoms
Ever wonder why even those of us who keep exercising and trying to stay in shape are still as difficult to perform in the bedroom as we were in our younger years?
The culprit is a known andropause known as menopause. When men are older, our body produces less testosterone (which is important for sex hormones) than is commonly used, causing menopause to be lowered. Below are many symptoms of andropause that men only contribute to aging:
(1) tired or decreased energy
(2) low interest in sex or decreased libido
(3) Impairment of sexual performance due to erectile dysfunction or failure to maintain erection for long periods of time
(4) Muscle weakness and pain
(5) always be emotionally shocked
(6) Sleep problems
(7) hot flash
(8) sweating at night
(9) humble
(10) bone thinning or bone loss
Is there anything we can do to improve testosterone levels naturally?
YES WE CAN!
The first thing to do is to exercise regularly. Studies have shown that people who exercise regularly have higher sex drive. This may be related to an increase in testosterone that occurs immediately after resistance training such as lifting weights, or right after endurance training such as walking.
In addition to training to test your body's testosterone production, there is another great way to achieve this goal.
How is it?
Food?
Yes, because certain foods can naturally build up our testosterone levels. Here are the dietary options to increase male hormone levels according to Larrian Gillespie, Beverly Hills urologist and author of The Gladiator Diet:
(1) Oysters contain protein, magnesium, lots of zinc.
Along with increasing your physical endurance, oysters pack more zinc than almost any other food source. Zinc plays an important role in muscle growth and testosterone levels.
However, oysters are high in sodium, making them a bad choice for people with heart disease or hypertension. They may also contain bacteria known as vibrio which can cause illness when eaten raw, especially for people with a weak immune system. The best way to reduce these risks is to eat or bake them until done well.
(2) Fat-free meat containing protein, iron, magnesium, zinc, saturated fat.
Beef in particular offers the added benefit of high protein and zinc - two essential nutrients for optimizing testosterone levels and building muscle.
(3) Peanuts (beans, peanuts, navy beans and kidney beans) containing protein, fiber, zinc. Peanut butter is a nutrient. Peanuts have the highest nutrient zinc among vegetables and some such as roasted peanuts have high zinc content as found in red meat. Other rich sources of zinc can be found in pecans, pumpkin seeds, chickpeas, peas, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and wheat bran.
(4) Chicken with lots of protein and little fat.
According to John E. Morley, director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at St. Louis University, high protein diets have a positive effect on muscle mass and testosterone levels. High fat has the opposite effect. So, let's eat lots of chicken so we can't have fun with "chicks".
(5) Eggs contain protein and cholesterol. According to Robert S. Tan, a professor of geriatrics and anesthesiologist at the University Of Texas at Houston, testosterone is synthesized from cholesterol and therefore, foods that contain cholesterol are a good source for building your testosterone. Eggs are a pure source of cholesterol, without cholesterol, and a recent study shows that excess cholesterol in eggs is not as harmful as previously thought.
(6) Cottage cheese contains a lot of protein and very little fat. (only 1% milk fat)
(7) Broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts contain fiber, indole-3.
Indole-3 is an important nutrient that can help reduce estrogen which causes fat accumulation and impedes muscle growth. Fiber is very good for weight control.
(8) Asparagus is a high libido booster in Vitamin E (a great sex vitamin)
(9) Saucrraut (sourcrout) is a fermented cabbage that is said to boost men's sexual activity after they eat it.
(10) Garlic contains allicin.
Clinical studies show that garlic active ingredients increase testosterone levels and inhibit cortisol, a hormone that competes with testosterone, limiting its action and breaking down muscle tissue.
(11) Ginger stimulates the blood circulation system which improves blood flow to the genitals resulting in greater erection and sensitivity
(12) Ginseng helps in the production of nitric oxide which is essential for smmoth muscle relaxation and erectile function.
(13) Celery makes men irresistible.
Raw celery contains male hormone androsterone that can act as a pheromone to stimulate female attraction.
(14) Bananas are the perfect food for endurance in the bedroom.
They contain Vitamin B which is other than the key to turning carbohydrates into energy, believed to help testosterone. Munching on one before your "wrestling bedroom" can help you last longer in bed.
(15) Honey provides more energy and contributes to arousal.
The simple carbohydrates that contain it provide energy and instant fuel for working muscles. It is also rich in Vitamin B which is required for testosterone production.
(16) Basil (a plant that smells like peppermint used in cooking) promotes circulation and is useful in stimulating sex drive.
(17) Cardamom (an aromatic spice from seed capsules from various East Indian plants) is a powerful aphrodisiac and helps in the treatment of impotence.
(18) Fennel (a yellow-flowering herb used as a seasoning) has the effect of increasing libido because it is rich in estrogen-like substances.
(19) Dark chocolate promotes the release of a "good" chemical called endorphins. Chocolate also provides a small amount of emergency tryptophan, stimulates caffeine, and some substances such as anandamaide and theobromine - many of which function as psychedelic and opiate drugs respectively. So now you understand why it's a popular gift on Valentine's Day.
(20) Avocado increases the libido of men and women and contains Vitamin B6, which increases the production of male hormones.
(21) Almonds contain essential fatty acids that are important in the production of male hormones to regulate sex drive.
(22) Pomegranates, commonly known as "love apples" are aphrodisiacs that stimulate sexual desire.
(23) Alcoholic roots stimulate estrogen production essential for sexual function.
(24) Oat creates a great boost of energy and stimulates libido for greater sexual performance.
(25) Flaxseeds increase testosterone levels and are composed of essential fatty acids such as Omega-3 and Omega-6 which help increase the production of sex hormones.
(26) Bubbles are rich in amino acids that increase libido and improve sexual function.
(27) Red wine.
Moderate consumption of alcohol causes the body to relax by suppressing the central nervous system. Red wine contains not only alcohol, but also a pigment from wine that inhibits the male enzyme, a type of phospodiesterase 5. This blockage makes it easier for men to achieve erection.
